    I'm just repeating, but sounds like he had this vision you wouldn't take to it, respect how "hard" it is and be happy being his pillion.

    Or your skills are improving and he is feeling a little insecure? ("she might be a better rider than me"?)

    I introduced my partner to riding and encouraged her. she loves it and I'm glad she does. Yes - I had an alterior motive. for her to do something I also love so we have another thing we can do together (readers - you're either thinking or right now).

    Anyway - tell him you want to be able ride with him. Wouldn't it both be great if you both had bikes and could ride together?

    Mrs. B and I are going on our first combined camping expedition. Just bought her a pack for her rack (bike rack that is KBers). Just need to sort out a comfy mattress for tent nookie.

    if you buy an air mattress get a 12V compressor because you wouldnt want to be so exhausted from blowing up the airbed that you had no energy left for anything else...

    I think it was more he had a bit of a freakout about me possibly falling off and getting badly hurt (and possibly binning his bike). The improving skills might have a bit of impact on it... I certainly want to ride with him, and I'm really looking forward to it. Sooner or later, he'll get around to liking me riding too.

    AMCC run theirs in the evening and you don't even need your own bike.
    I'm booked in to do my BHS this Tuesday coming, and I'm going to study up to do the licence test the same day (assuming I get the BHS! )

    @Reckless - Thanks, I think!

    @Argyle - Yeah, a lot of people think that... but it works for us.

    I think it's been sorted.

    Boyfriend is going to be away for the next three weeks. When he left on Monday, he gave me the keys to his bike, and said, "Here, for when you get your Learner's tomorrow, so you can practise."

    I'm a cynic - the first thing I thought was is he actually afraid you might go riding without him and get ANOTHER boyfriend? Perhaps he is worried about having to share you some more....

    But again - I'm a total cynic

    Ditto, though in my case it would be a bloke that wouldn't be getting my keys, he wouldn't be getting anything at all if he was shagging some other chick.
