National grief: Show of support for our mates on the Coast

Hi everybody. I'm a new member to the KB forums. I have been a closet member for sometime and often refer to KB to find out 'what's goin' on'. Firstly, my appreciation of what KB does and the opportunity it gives us all to communicate directly with others who share the passion.

I live in sunny Nelson and ride a Triumph Trophy. (never too many sunny days...)

Today, the 24th of November is a sad day for every New Zealander with the news of a second explosion at the Pike River coal mine and likelyhood that 29 men have certainly died. The grief that will descend on the West Coast deserves our attention. I have no doubt this will touch each and everyone of us in some way or another.
It is true that while the good people of Greymouth, Runanga and surrounds will need some time and privacy to deal with their grief without being over run by others, it is also true that at this time they need to see that the wider community (NZ) is thinking of them too. We have to give them something money can't buy. Lets show them we care by dropping everything else and head to Greymouth at short notice.
So, rain hail or shine, me and the missus are getting on the bike this Saturday (the 27th) and armed with the biggest bunch of flowers we can carry, we're riding down to leave them as close to the mine as we can get. Then we will carry on to Greymouth (saving some of the flowers) for the service that will be held at 6pm. The tent will be tied on the back.
Leaving from the Richmond Showgrounds at 10.30am. Anyone want to join us?

    Thanks. Kev.

I'm sure there will be a lot of people like me who are unable to be there but will be with you in spirit.
Best wishes to everyone down there.
