    Cool Wellington 250 owners

    sup guys

I dont know about you, but i am keen to get a group of 250ish owners together for rides and possibly general mayhem? im not fussed.

All of the group rides on this site seam to be for the older bikers (no offence intended, im 19).

I know its winter, but real bikers dont take it out on a nice sunday.. weather doesnt stop me anyway.

Dont know many of the roads dont here now they have let me lose on my bike, any rout suggestions welcome.

flick me a pm or something if ur keen to go burn some rubber sometime.

fyi there would be no stopping for coffees.

There used to be a welly 250 club about two years ago came down for a couple of rides (used to meet at the Jville railway station) but no one really kept it going the problem is that most people upgrade from their 250 asap.
Better off just organising a ride and see how many show
    Good luck

I ride a 250, And I have no problem riding with the Wellington/Kapiti riders.
Your mentality dictates how you ride, and the crew that went for the blat out to
Riversdale beach are some of the best people I have had the pleasure to ride with.

They are considerate to 250 riders as well, sure they leave you behind, but they wait on the
turn off for you to catch up so you do not get lost (Or if you don't turn up they'll go back to find out why)

Also I find that riding with the older crowd is better due to the knowledge that these riders have.

Your comments about "General Mayhem" "Burn Rubber" even if in jest, doesn't inspire confidence
for me to tag along with you.

I fully recommend coming to one of the rides that is organised by the "Older" Generation as they
    know some wicked destinations.

I'm always keen for riding, doesn't matter who with.

    Cheers

I completely agree. I have been riding with these guys and gals on numerous occasions with my 250, and they were very kind and kept an eye out for me (and eyegasim) everytime. Some of the best people that I have ever met. I myself am 26, and the the help and skills that they have been showing me has been much appreciated as a learner rider, and have really helped with my safety on the roads. I have upgraded to a bigger bike, but I would encourage you to come along on one of these rides. Any 250 gets well looked after, with someone tailing behind to keen an eye on you.

please dont take my post in the wrong way, i am new to road riding (x motox) and had been watching easy rider which inspired me to start this thread. I have never been on a group ride period nor do i have any prejudice against any preexisting rides. I will try to make one of these rides, im sure i can gain alot of experience from it and from what you guys have said they sounds like top notch blokes and gal's. one weekend im not working i will make an effort to come along!

Good stuff! Its a ball riding with others when you find a good bunch. But I am sure there are heaps of folk out there on 250's who would be keen for their own ride too. I know quite a few who didn't feel confident enough to head out with larger bikes. If you call... they will come.

Good call, I think if a ride with these guys would not end well.

Yo, im always keen to head out for a ride. Just moved to Welly recently so looking for new roads to ride. There will always be coffee at the end though. Not a big fan of stopping halfway through a ride. Sunny days are better, means less can go wrong on rides which means a better rep for all involved. Iv been on a few group rides in auckland i.e. 30-450 riders so i know the ropes a bit and always keen to help others out. If there isnt already, perhaps a welly 250 group here on KB? That is if messages can be sent to all members. I have been away from the site for a while........ but have returned
