My comfort zone for space depends on circumstance. I have no problem braking to avoid hitting the guy/gal in front, when I see they're busy dicing. It's when there's a huge gap to the next person and they take (in my eyes) a close line, cutting me off while lapping me, that I have an issue with it.

I remember a race off-road years ago, where the guys were passing me, gassing on and spraying me in a pile of crap, I couldn't believe they could be so horrible. A day or so later, I realised, they'd passed me, gassed on because they could and never registered I'd be showered in gravel/dust or whatever. I was the mobile chicane they'd passed and was now gone from their memory (same as what I do when lane-splitting). I know it's probably the same/similar circumstance, and I need to harden TFU, but that will also take time and a shift in my odd-ball thinking hehehe

Just hope HD doesn't put me off riding Taupo, as I should have at least one person coming to cheer me on (I'll make a point of telling her who she should be cheering on once we're all down there hehehe).
When trail riding, riders should be careful not to spray you after overtaking. I've been just-missed by a large rock when trail riding in the South Island as a thoughtless rider hit the gas hard after overtaking me on a rocky hill. Motocross racing is a different matter.

Road racing is more controlled and predictable so fast riders should, and the good ones do, allow space. At the big tracks it is easier for the fast overtaking riders. It is easier for all riders. You'll love HD and Taupo, I'm sure .

    .
Doing that to quad riders who clog up a trail is best, plus they deserve it for riding a quad...

Another goodie is dropping the clutch on someone who is stuck in a bog, thats always a good laugh Ive been told that what has came from my back wheel was like getting hit by a pile bricks, wonderful things those 450's.

You will just love it TRRS

there is plenty of room for you to leave space either side so any and all can pass safely
and the fast guys only get to lap you once (if your slow) instead of every 4 or so laps

hehe, there ain't no "IF" about me being slow.
I vaguely recall enjoying riding Taupo on the RG150 (I think it was) and even went past one person (took me forever) - she was only riding a GSXR1100 (Suzuki track day). hahaha, full of shit, no idea what she was on.
Looking forward to Taupo, as it's a chance to catch up with some of the other riders and (try to) go riding with Trudes.

Damien, if you ever get the chance to go riding with a quad in the bush, don't. Last time I did, I had some guy pull up behind me (quads blocking the trail yet again), and I just told him to go past me, as I was riding with a quad who couldn't get past the stuck quad. We did get our quad well stuck a few times, and thankfully some guys did help us poor females out - our babysitter had left us just before we got stuck the first time. What was worse was the quad was comandeered later in the ride when one of the two-wheelers we were sort of with broke down. We still laugh about that ride and curse quads about it.

Hmm, will need to find time to hit trail rides this summer again I think.

Do hope others will be heading down (guessing/praying the weather will be like earlier this week and a semi-decent bucket turnout will appear).

Well, that was fun. Would've been better if I'd had reverse and ridden around backwards. Still not sure how I got talked into this one, but if Taupo ends up as bad, anyone want to buy a FXR. I'll just stick to road riding and the odd dirt ride.
Ne'er mind, had to be done. Sorry for being the mobile chicane.

Everyone done good. Nobody had an oops (in our races, other races, not so good).
13 starters in our races (all 3 races). I got lapped in every one, but not by everybody, so that was good (and the only one to be lapped). Damien lapped me just before the finish in race 3, I think Max won all 3 races.

8 buckets, 1 street stock, and the rest must have been pro lites (so I did get a top 10 finish hahaha). Tim rode, but not his bucket or retard.

I llike flatter tracks as that way you can see who you're trying to chase and can get a little bit more motivated.

Some punter won other races, basically, I wouldn't have a clue what the hell went on, it was hot. I gained back the seconds I'd managed to scrub off in one race and lost all my time on the track (Julie commented she was losing time on the corners). I couldn't get my head around anything, but did laugh a couple of times. Oh, I learnt blue flags are bloody usseful at times as one time I hadn't been shown the flag and jumped when the leaders went past hehehe

$200 - not sure what part of the bike that'll buy you, but I'll try to ensure it's useful to ya haha
