Who cares what it looks like when they only cost 35 hundy? Ridiculously difficult to break, 45-50 mpg, 260km/hr if you want to, 3.5 secs to the speed limit, and well and truly lose your licence in 2nd gear.
Handle better than the same vintage GSXR1100, and while it's not quite as quick on the straight, will absolutely destroy one in the corners.
Totally simple to work on, half the gixxer or bandit parts interchange with them, and cheap as chips to turn into something stupidly fast.
Mine's done 157,000 kms and still going strong (needs a bit of gearbox work but that's all). I've had it since 58,000 kms and in that time I've done the following:
- five sets of tyres
- three chains, two sets of sprockets (change sprockets every 2nd chain)
- three sets of brake pads
- two full flushes of brake oil and pads
- three sets of fork seals and oil
- new set of carbs - old ones had issues which could be fixed but easier to replace
- two sets of spark plugs
- K&N filter
- 20-odd oil and filter changes
Where else can you get a bike for this price you can ride 250kms to a track day, then mix it with the big bikes all day, then ride home again?
Did I mention they only weigh 210kgs as well?
Most under-rated bike EVER.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
