If you can find somebody with an Ultrasound ,,,, GET IT CHECKED.
The fractures can happen in virtually just ONE RIDE.
Visually OK, no indications ,,,,, to BUGGERED, with no logical reason why.
And check the rear engine mounting bolt.
Before removal, check that it was tight when in use.
Then remove the bolt and check that it is STRAIGHT.
A few owners have found their cases OK, but their bolts are curved to the point of placing load on the outer ends of the cases. a SURE sign that a fracture is not far away.
Consider replacing the bolt, no matter how good it might appear to be.
The OEM is soft, and does stretch, especially on bikes of 3+ years and 30,000+ klms.
The Nichols bolt is a good replacement.
The TPO bolt is even better.
OEM is OK if it's a new one.
Whichever bolt, loctite the thread with 242 grade, and torque it to 60nm.
Rear Shock -
If it feels anything less than good, as in a tad spongy, damping & rebound a bit sad, HAVE IT CHECKED and/or SERVICED.
Every bike will bottom out somewhere, sometime.
Most cope with it no problem.
But the Ducati ST series design is VERY suseptable to being VERY EASILY DAMAGED.
Take care my friend, and CHECK THAT BIKE, and KEEP CHECKING IT ,,,,, PLEASE.
