    HD 5 Dec, anyone going?

Will I be there on my own if I post a cheque this weekend to avoid the late entry fee?

Yes, I'm planning to be there. Not paid my entry yet. I should have new slick tyres next week sometime . No wets available yet so it had better not rain like last time. I'm even considering waiting to enter on the day, then I will just take photos if it rains again .

Definitely a possibility for me. It's likely to be a last-minute decision though. Tim

I might get a decent result (for a change). Not really sure I'm up for this, but as Julie said, it could be a good thing to ride before Taupo (which I'm reaaaaaaaaally not sure about). And at a guess one of the few times I'll actually get to ride HD.
Yeah, it'd be cheaper for me to go buy myself a trophy (which is the only way I'd get one anyway, but I don't think that'll be as much fun)

Henk old buddy. How much of your loom did you pull out of your 'fixer'? I've got wires for Africa and not sure what's imprtant and what's not.... Snipped off a bit more than i can chew me thinks. Rusty Demon.

    There is a schematic here

    http://www.fxr150.co.nz/discussion/v....php?f=3&t=360

That shows the bare minimum with no electric start, no dash, not much of anything really. This is what I used to run, I've put an extra three wires and a cap in now to hook the dash back up with only the tacho working.

Weather looking OK for Sunday. Still waiting for tyres! I have the tubeless valves installed and ready to try tubeless on the standard FXR rims for the first time. Hope they stay on the bead

If you get the tyres too late to get them put on but early enough for the weekend, I can wedge them on at the track for you if needed.

Thanks Henk. I also have the option of putting my very worn tyres on if the new ones don't arrive in time. With the tube causing the puncture, hopefully the tyres are still OK.

I think you'll really like the big tracks. No shoulder-banging like Mt Wellington as everyone has much more space. I think it is much safer on the wide circuits than on the small, tight go-kart tracks.

Yeah, time will tell though. I know I don't have the mentallity to race, but I do enjoy my riding and pushing "my" limits. When I realise I'm not laughing all the way around and having lots of fun, that's when I call it quits.

My comfort zone for space depends on circumstance. I have no problem braking to avoid hitting the guy/gal in front, when I see they're busy dicing. It's when there's a huge gap to the next person and they take (in my eyes) a close line, cutting me off while lapping me, that I have an issue with it.

I remember a race off-road years ago, where the guys were passing me, gassing on and spraying me in a pile of crap, I couldn't believe they could be so horrible. A day or so later, I realised, they'd passed me, gassed on because they could and never registered I'd be showered in gravel/dust or whatever. I was the mobile chicane they'd passed and was now gone from their memory (same as what I do when lane-splitting). I know it's probably the same/similar circumstance, and I need to harden TFU, but that will also take time and a shift in my odd-ball thinking hehehe

Just hope HD doesn't put me off riding Taupo, as I should have at least one person coming to cheer me on (I'll make a point of telling her who she should be cheering on once we're all down there hehehe).
