One of the pictures you uploaded on page 2 shows what looks like a wear indicator (raised bit in the groove of the tread) that is sitting flush with the surface of the tyre - indicating that it's fucked.

The same thing can clearly be seen at 00:24 of your video.

Have a look at the edge of the tyre, where the sidewall meets the tread, near these "bumps". There will likely be TWI, or something similar stamped into the rubber.

I could be wrong, just saying.

Ok, choice, they must of made it harder on tyres now, - its all good then, cause if i went to Porirua they wouldnt see that as a biggie, but at a different store they would, (confused look) - o well i have a new tyre anyways... no point to continue on,

    thank you for the photo!

Now I get it, the thumbnail sized bits that are worn are the tread depth indicators.

So the tyre is good except for the bits where it has worn down to the bits that are there to tell you your tyre is fucked.

Or in other words it's fucked.

As both those bikes have the number plate light as standard (They use the tail light bulb with a white opening at the bottom), I would be interested in what modifications they had done to change this.

I need to get a WOF tomorrow but suspect I'll fail due to my 2 brothers pipes being too loud. My plan, take it to a mechanic I know who mainly works on harleys, that way, I'm sure my bike is quieter than them and hopefully it'll pass.

Not sure how true this story is, but I heard a dealership in Wgtn sold and fitted some after market cans and when it came time for the dude to get a new WOF, they failed him on too much noise

    How's this for a scenario.

Dude walks into dealership, "I want me some cans for my TL/SV/GSXR/R1 Blade. Noisy ones please" Guy behind the counter says "Well yeah, we can get these ones but you might need extra baffleing ro swap them back when it comes to WOF time" Guy sez "I can handle that, I'll have 'em."

Dude sells his bike some time later, neglecting to inform the buyer of much except where he'd had the pipes fitted. New owner takes it there for a WOF and "SOrry mate, you've failed. Pipes are too fucken noisey"

    Hmmmmm.......

Me and you both, the mod was like this when i got the Bike in the original form, and i remember when replacing the fairing with repsol's i didn't get any lighting part from the break lights...

i can always just do a cheap job, get two white lights. mount it just upbove my number plate, link the wires to the battery with an on and off switch, so if i don't ride at night, i just kept it off, i wondering if they pass it like that?

Just wire it to the tail light. It'll turn it on and off with the bike, and it'll be protected by a fuse.

And allowing vehicles that fail the wof on the road would contribute towards a safer enviroment ??

I think Mully may have used a hint of sarcasm.
