    WTB - Kawa ZZR250

Friend of mine wants to get into riding, will be his 1st bike.

Has $3000 cash to spend, been looking on trade me for ages but wants to deal with honest bikers not dishonest asians....

So if you are honest (honest asian's ok) with a ZZR250 for sale feel free to contact me expressing your interest in a good home for your bike.

Any age / milage / condition considered just be honest and realistic on price.

    Cheers

For that price you could buy a CBR250 if you look around a bit.

Good simple bike, good economy, decent power for 250.

i bought a ZXR last month . i was a 4 cylinder or nothing person. I dont think you'd get a CBR for under 3g in Auckland having looked.

There were some really stuffed low milage bikes out there with people asking to much in my opinion though.

The interesing thing this is 8 years a go i bought a crb with 16,000ks and i paid 3g for it from a dealer. That same dealer has the same bike for sale now ( not exactely the same bike ) and he wants 5g now !

There are usually reasonably tidy CBR250s on Trademe for around $3500. Dealers rip people off. I'd rather spend the extra $500 on a CBR250 over a ZZR250, then get that money back from the higher resale value.

For a beginner/commuter 250 you're way better off with a twin. I'd go for a VTR over a Hornet or CBR myself.
When you want to go fast, wait till you can get a 600 or something...

All good, and thanks for the that, but in the short time since I posted this he got off his ass and had red baron do a pre purchase on a 90 ZZR250 that was on trade me last week, ad said 2800 and he got it for 2200 due to abit of a list on it.

But then he'd have to ride a Honda and who on earth would want to tell ya mates that?

He's ridden my GPX loved it, he wanted a ZZR because they seemed slightly more sporty than the GPX and he'll be a weekend rider unlike me who rides to work and back every day.

They are a bit more modern than the GPX, bit lower to the ground and heavier though. Twin spar frame on the ZZR too.

Completely agree, lotta shit out there under the 3k mark. Very hard market to buy or sell in. Will be much better once the learner market is open to 4-5 & 600cc, 250's will then sell for what they are as a bike not the closet market that has existed for them since all learners HAD to stick for 250 or less.
