Well apparently the barrels sat in a corner after pressure testing (which they passed -maybe it took until now to get them to pass) & he promises it will ship tonight.

But that's got to be 10 days & some pissing around in customs while they decide if it should have gst added to a warranty return etc. I can't see me getting it till the 15th, at which stage I have to run some sealer through it to be sure & paint the barrels.

That pretty much leaves me the weekend of the 19/20 to put it together, find acceptable jetting & be ready for a WOF. Oh yeah & I'm racing sunday. I won't lie, its gonna be tight.

But come what may I will be riding a 2 stroke on the 27th.

. . .just might be at a trail ride.

I on the other hand went on a lengthy excursion around Kapiti... It would not have been a lengthy excursion on any other mode of transport but it was huge fun.

Its running better but still wont take full throttle without bogging as I think the restriction in the AC50 header kills the A100 engine but I need to look at the carb again methinks. I can lurch up to 70kph OK and it will build past there.

Lets face it - it was definately not designed for a fat old man but god its funny to ride....

Could also be the muffler is choked up with old oil. That will stop it revving for sure. I had one so bad I could hold the throttle open & it would only rev so far. But that was an extreme case.

Do a google & you'll find several evil ways of decoking, or rather de oiling mufflers.

Well my mint front end is in. Just leaves minor reassebly and paint.

Thinking about just chucking the shit bodywork on for the ride as money's tight as a fishes arse right now. Other than that, she's good to go really.

Yamazuki would be more fitting, with the age of bikes going

So the UPS tracker states package held up in the states. Missing commercial invoice. So no good for export overseas. So that will be pinged back taking a few more days.

No real chance now. Tokomaru here I come.

Yeah they've all got a tyre tread problem. Either way too little (Dunlop slicks) or way too much (knobblies).

Well it's been a very productive week on the MVX front.

Drew's busied himself getting the front fairing mint and making the best bits of two instrument panels into one. Lower pipes and footpeg hangers are fitted, as are the carbs which I've richened up a little for longevity over outright performance. Tank, sidecovers and guard still need to be painted in a perfect world but the budget's just not quite there right now so I may just slap it back together for the ride and be done with it for now. Decent tyres take precedence over pretty paint to be honest.

Everything's well on track although I'll lose a weekend this one due to racing at Ruapuna and then next Sunday for the Vic Club trackday at Minefeild. Should be all good I hope.

Fingers crossed the 2T Gods are smiling and we have stunning weather on the 27th
