Richban all the way, given his bike's reliability and his riding ability. But it would be cool to see a CBR take it out.

Does anyone know his CBR's HP?
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

I'm thinking maybe the MB engine could die as it is much earlier in its development than Riches proven motor.
had a laugh at this one

how many years in the build is this engine ???

how about Avalon on Chambers bike since he cant ride this year (skill and HP with a little bit of handling)
AND his bike now handles with more HP than last year (when Avalon refused to ride it after passing nearly everyone before the second corner)

Someone else will win, hopefully a 2 stroke.
Next year, Green will be my vote. Development and all that...
The poll is't for who will win outright, just out of these two.

by your logic Richban is going to go boom!
and speedpro will finish the F1 ahead of Andrew Stroud (engine has had more and longer development)

I think it's going to be an interesting year

No, that wasn't what I was saying at all.

I thought the current speedpro engine configuration was only just in the final stages of tune recently?

I know he has run an MB for ages but I wasn't aware the current one had that many miles on it.

Rich ran his current engine at the GP last year so its been going (bloody!) well for over a year. I'm not sure if he is going to run that engine or the newer one still in development. You could always ask him.

As for the Andrew Stroud thing: Don't be silly! you know I only mentioned it as a key factor out of many, many variables.

You're correct in saying it is going to be an interesting year, there is certainly some very hot competition from all around the country.

I started making a list of possible winners/podium finishers but it was so long I gave up! I couldn't pick it.

I can't wait to see it, I hope someone gets a good video...

FYI I've been building this engine for over 6 years now. I've been running the new bottom end ever since I exploded the old engine, with the old engine resurrected cylinder on it. That cylinder revved a lot lower and made a lot less power though I'm pretty sure I know a way to fix both those problems. I'm reasonably confident about this engine as I've been real careful to do everything perfectly and use all the right bits put together properly for the intended end use. My old MB sidecar engine revved to 14,000rpm(ish) and that crank lasted 6 years. This motor is built specifically for those revs.

FYI. My new engine is on the raged edge, and using a mix cheap and expensive untested parts and is still in lots of bits. I have no confidence what so ever that it will hold together. I just pray it blows up when I am running it in at our last meeting in wellington. So I can put the old motor in and finish the race. Maybe.

    Haha! Brilliant!

True, I wasn't up on the fine details of the engines.

I got a ride on that Sidecar the other week. (pretty sure it's the same one)
Although not identical to before it amazed me with how much power it had.

Thats 25 people then. no wait, 26.

I my mind I think there are at least 26 people I can think of that are capable of winning the GP on the right bike. There are bound to be more I don't know of or who have improved enough to be in with some kind of chance.
