    I've been hit!

Last night I got rear-ended by some guy on my way home from work in Lynn mall. I didn't even know what happened, started taking off and then my front end comes up and I'm heading toward the ground. I'm ok but the entire left side of my bike is a bit worse for wear and as far as I'm concerned unrideable. Yet another "i didn't see you", or in this case "I saw you rolling forward and then you were still there and tried to hit hte brakes but it was too late". Yeah, I tend to stop at stop signs ae.

Anyway, I stupidly didn't get his rego but got name address and a confirmed cell phone number that is still ringing (not ditched the sim) so hopefully my insurance can help me out.

Now excuse me while I go nurse my now purple leg

Bugger and glad you are ok-ish.

Not that they'll do much but it might be worth reporting it to the cops. Any accident involving injury is supposed to be reported in 24 hours.......

As you have suffered an injury make sure u see a doc and have it registered with acc just in case issues arise later on, also report it to the police again as its an injury accident it has to be reported and they will track the other party down, the driver should be charged, this is not an accident unless his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator then that could be termed an accident, this is negligence.

    Heal quickly
Don't judge me based upon your ignorance.

Hey chicky. Sorry to hear of this off. And it just further proves how many cagers really don't look around and drive with tunnel vision. A scary reality, and one that makes us all so vulnerable on the roads.

Rest up well, heal quickly and just make sure you do head along to the Doc to get checked out. Also, as mentioned above, make sure you do report this and follow through on it.

    Take it easy miss.

Thanks everyone for the advice and kind words. A doctor's visit really isn't needed and I had my st john bf check me over before leaving the scene. But I will pop down to the police station to report it this afternoon.

Might be worth it for the 'just in case you need acc' situation mentioned. We are paying enough for that privilege now.

Ditto everyone else, glad yr ok and I feel yr pain in regards to yr bike...sob snif...I have been rear ended twice. First time was by a truck while stopped for roadworks, lucky I heard the screaming tires and brakes and knowing a truck was behind me I managed to move slightly out of the way so I only just got clipped, didn't go down but there was damage and the trucking company paid up.
2nd time I was at a stop sign and suddenly got shunted forward...WTF? I tore strips off the driver for being so impatient and pointed out that he was now having to wait even longer LOL. Fortunately only damage was a cracked number plate...phew

    ALWAYS get the rego!

Ya really don't need this crap just before Xmas eh?

Any update? Did you (or your insurance) track down the guy?

If you didn't see a quack - is everything healing ok, no stiff or sore neck etc?
