Hi guys & gals.
I'm doing the ART day at Pukekohe on Sunday, I have not been to Pukekohe before and I don't know what is there in terms of pit garages and power.
Are there pit garages, and if so does anyone have room for one more bike, I am happy to pay my share of the cost.
If there are no garages (or no space in one), is anyone going to be there with space under an ezy-up, and a generator. Again happy to share the cost of gas, or contirbute gas for the generator.
This is only my second time on track ever (HD two weeks ago was my first), and I'm doing this as a prelude to racing in clubmans (hopefully round four of the AMCC), so I would appreciate any help I can get as I don't yet have my own ezy-up or generator. And I'm finding out as I go other things I need.
If anyone can help feel free to answer here, PM me, or TXT me on 0211457895.
Cheers,
Karl
This is me at HD two weeks ago. I was the one wobbling round and probably getting in everyones way.
If you can keep your head when all about you are loosing theirs.........it's quite possible you haven't grasped the situation.
There are some old pit garages (or a covered over area), and there are bound to be some free, and while they do have some power, I'd take your generator along.
Note that all groups except "Fast" usually have arranged meeting points, which is where briefings are held. Only the "Fast" group usually use the pit "garages". That's not to say it has to be that way, just how it is normally.
The 3 groups other than the fast group are encouraged to pit together for de-breifs and coaching from the designated instructors. There will usually be an EZ-up asigned to each group (this will be explained at the morning breifing).
Don't bother setting up under the 'garages' they are too far away. When you arrive at the track you will enter the pit area inside the track, turn left and find a spot bewteen the bridge and the white control building at the end of pit lane.
I wouldn't worry about using tyre warmers on an ART day, but if you get there really early, there are power outlets on the fence on the inside on the track (take a long extension lead).
Kiwi Graham (KB user name) organises these days and they are very well run. So if you need more info he's the man!
Also, pop along to the club on Thursday night as they so a pre ART day session then.
And I don't think you were holding anyone up at HD, you were flying!
Have fun on Sunday.
