    Cool Paintwork in Hamilton?

My GSXR is in need of a paint job but to get clear coat you have to buy it in 4-5 ltrs
which is way to much ,so a friend susgested that i prep the fairings and get a panel and paint shop to do the base coat and clear .
If anybodys knows of a good place in hamilton to get this done would be greatly apreciated cheers.

Ok, sorry I know this NOT what you asked. But I know someone who is good, but in Auckland, so there is hassle there for you if you used them but it's an option.

Cats land on their feet. Toast lands jamside down.
A cat glued to some jam toast will hover in quantum indecision

Curiosity was framed; ignorance killed the cat

Fix a computer and it'll break tomorrow.
Teach its owner to fix it and it'll break in some way you've never seen before.

Not a bad idea - talk to the paint shop first so you know exactly what prep is required.

Also the saving may not be huge as a big part of the cost is the paint.

Plus they're not supposed to sell it to you!

You don't need a license to buy 2 pack paints, but you need a lobotomy to spray them without a respirator setup.

The exact reason they're not supposed to sell it to the public. How many DIY'ers do you know with an air-fed mask and suitable air supply filters. Not to mention what happens with the overspray created?

Not sure, but I can check on that. Could just be a manufacturers directive?

Only if it's easy for you, be interested to know if it's actually illegal or as you say perhaps a manufacturers directive.

Apparently at the present time it's not illegal, though there are guidelines that must be adhered to. Full disclosure of product, data sheets etc. No issue if they're familiar with and the end user is a painter. So effectively, anyone could give the name of a painter they know of and all would be sweet.

Legislation is apparently due in February next year?

Not sure if you have had the answer yet but I had a guy repaint a few fairings for me in the past. Fantastic job and specialises in motorcycles. And is in Hamilton.

Hamilton Motorcycles 07 849 1919 would put you on to him if he is still operating. His first name is Mark.
