    XS250 vs XS400

Ive got an old project that i brought a wee while back and ive been rebuilding the carbs. I pulled out the carb slide and measured it. its only 27mm. Does anyone know if they came standard on the xs250? As im aware the bike is a 400cc but ive read up that they have 33mm mukuni carbys. So if anyone could shed some light on this for me it would be great.

When you are reading up on XS series Yamahas, the early ones were TWINS - XS250,360,400,500,650, - and the 400 probably did have bigger carbs. You talk about measuring the "slides" - the size of the carb is measured across the throat or bore, not the slide.
