    FXR 150 - Carb & idle

My FXR now has a standard carb and airbox which is making it beautiful to ride (no pain in hand anymore) and smooth throttle action.

Sure I have lost a bit of top end power but it revs faster, however it stalls instead of idling ATM. Will get Malcolm to help adjust the idle, however I just have a couple of questions that you guys may be able to help with:

    1) The bike has a noticeable flat spot between 6-8rpm's - is this normal with a standard carb? If not, what should I be checking?

    2) As the idle needs adjustment anyway, can anyone tell me if it would be worthwhile setting the idle a bit higher to assist me round Taupo? Has anyone actually done this with there FXR for a 'big track'?!

For all of you that thought my bike was to quiet before, you can hardly hear it at all now so I can come flying past you (yeah right) before you even know I am there!

Well I have been racing a stock FXR since around halfway through last year and all I can say about the carb is it has a delay when you wind the throttle on. If this is what you mean, it's normal haha. It happens about halfway through its rev range if I wind the throttle quickly (that's when it's most noticeable) otherwise I don't have any other problems or flat spots.

Trudes and I will be there.

I have a GN carb, so may not be the same but I get idle issues i.e. it wont idle, when I come in after a race. This mainly happens later in the day when the bike is hot, especially if we are running lots of races. It's also hard to start when hot.
