    Pro-twins parity question

Now, I'm going to sound like a real arsehole here but I've wanted to know the answer to a question for a wee while now but not known how to present it, so I'll just ask.

How come one of the most seasoned F3 veterans, on one of the most developed, sorted and powerfull bikes in the field, was getting severly hasseled (and in fact beaten on one occasion) by a couple of "Pro-Twins" spec SVs at Hampton Downs this past weekend?

    Bring on the flaming

    This should be interesting...........

Hmmmmmm, 146 views and no real theory on what could be causing this phenomenon.

    I've got an idea.

If another pro-twins class rider asks to swap motors (assuming there's nothing wrong with theirs) for a race, the rider being asked can not decline.

As you know I prep the suspension on all 3 bikes in question. With respect to the two Pro Twins bikes we have made a leap in settings ( within the tight class rules! ) as weve been working on them all winter. The two riders in question have on and off been riding all winter as well so are race sharp.
Terry like me is advancing in years 50 plus and has not ridden since the last round of last years Nats, at HD.
He also started the day with an old tyre that had been through rather too many heat cycles and was well past its best, whereas Geoffrey and Daniel had rather fresher rubber fitted. Given that for heat 2 Terry had some race miles under his belt and a fresh rear tyre the natural balance of gap between the two types of bikes was restored, albeit Terry is still getting back up to speed. I think that fairly sums it all up.
A look at My laps for this meeting and the last round of the Nats may also explain that no-one is up to last round of the Nats speed in this class, although I may be wrong.

now heres another suggestion. Maybee T man feels that the tri series is just practice. Given that-- Its extremely unlikely he's using his "hot" engine that costs truck loads to build. More likely he's running a mildly warmed over cooking engine
Also HD is a still a new track to him so some fettling and learning still needs to be done.

    Theres another dimension or two to this, as follows;

Scott Moirs bike has the potential to run even closer to the sharp end were it not for woeful suspension. He had refitted his stock shockt and it worked better than the revalved shock done by some figjam kind of guy. If he could get both ends sorted out hed be threatening at the front on especially the tighter tracks.

Glen W didnt show and he may have been a pacesetter.

And then theres the woeful reliability of arguably the fastest F3 bike, Jason Eastons Tigcraft. If you could stop Jason himself working on it ( number 8 wire and shell be right mentality, doesnt work in a modern world ) and de-Italianise it as much as possible hed be impossible to regularly beat.

    What he said.

Robert did a good job of setting up the bike, which meant I could ride with a lot of confidence and Terry was down on the pace he set at the National round there.

Exactly! 3 Pro twins daring to go fast at the very front of a F3 type class.
