Hornet 900- put the battery terminals on the wrong way

gday guys, momentarily touched the wrong battery terminals on a hornet 900 (sounds stupid but quite easy to do with this bike) and now when I connect it up and turn the key there is absolutely nothing. No lights, FI, gauges- nothing.

I have checked the little fuse box and didn't find a broken fuse for ignition or starting.

What could it be?

Main fuse/ fusable link probably.
Possibly at/on/near the starter solenoid/relay.
Follow the positive lead from the battery, to the relay.
Probably a blade type fuse, but possibly a Honda style link costing 5 billion $ through Blue Wing NZ.

You better pray it's only a fuse bud....

Get a multimeter or test light and try and find voltage between the frame and battery positive, then move further away from the battery in steps (e.g. from battery, through main fuse, through bit of cable, through fusebox...) until you find where the current is losing it's way.

If it's a fuse, after replacing it check EVERYTHING carefully. Check lights, dash function, engine function, any accessories etc. You don't want to get a few km from home and find that the fuel gauge is fried and always reads full or that night falls and the headlights don't go!

Start on the main fuse - 20 amp off the top of my head but I've a funny feeling thee is a gruntier one hiding under there somewhere (or I have another bike in mind). Bikes at home so I cannot check.

In theory that will shit it self first when something like that is done and save everything else. As in really expensive bits ......

It is a tight little box they hide the battery in on the Hornet - I always unhook the exposed end first and cover the cable tab in masking tape to avoid it hitting the other terminal by accident.
