Not a whole lot. That album was pretty much the biggest they got. Still he could have gone farther if the singer was a lazy drunk.

Scary thing is I'm 21 and I know this stuff.

V=V Erick Braunn was the second guitarist for the band Iron Butterfly. I can try and email their most famous song to you if you want. Good stuff from the late 60s.

That'de be the one mate. Give it a listen. Some good stuff there. Not only a good guitar solo but a long and extreamly good percusion solo. At one point the guy is playing on two sets, one in front and the other behind him.

Okay, I downloaded the full (17 minute) version (bluddy slow on 56K dial-up).

And the verdict: pretty cool guitar work, but the drumming was even better!

(Hmmm, best drum solo - sounds like the start of another thread.........).

    Hahahah... where do I start!

Buddy Rich, Hellhammer (Jan Axel Bloemburg), Tony Lorenzo, Mike Portnoy, of course DENNIS CHAMBERS has to be on the list , Vinnie Colaiuta... etc etc.

Many more but I cannot remember them at this time of the night.

Go start a thread I reckon... I'm sadly off topic as it is. (sorry)

BTW V=V listen to it with some good stereo speakers. (not standard computer ones either) Gives it a whole new level of audio enjoyment.

Why is that so many call a guitar-led intermezzo a "solo"?
Solo means just that - alone, no other instruments playing at the time.
Hitcher - where are you? come and back me up...
ACC - It's where the Enron accountants all went.

Duo's then? Early Wishbone Ash were straight blues, good stuff, but got more refined later.Argus is a classic album, the cover one of the best - but the twin guitar solos were mesmerising....interweaving in and out,you never knew who was playing what.
