This is more of a "just curious" question, I'm not having any issues with it:
A three terminal flasher. The terminals are marked...
L
P
X
Eh? I could guess L=Left and X=Earth or something, but P? (It doesn't seem to be a badly made "R").

Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
I can never remember the code reference, without referring to the wire colours on different brands etc, but I think it is P-for voltage with ign on, X-for the indicator switch feed, and L- for, damn brain just explodedededed.![]()
X is power to flasher (think of it as "+" not "x")
L is "lights" or "load" i.e. the indicator itself
P is "panel" as in instrument panel-it's a signal to the dash for the indicator....umm "indicator"!
Two minutes with a wiring diagram and it'll make a whole heap more sense!
