    The mechanical basics?

Would anyone here be willing to impart their knowledge on building, tuning, servicing bikes? Be great if there were weekly meets that would cover these.

What do you need done? Going by your other threads you seem keen on the CBR250. I know a little bit about these bikes having worked on one so ask what ever you want and I'll see if I can help out.

Slave labour is about as common as hens teeth these days.

Simple advice I can give you is dont overtighten anything that threads into aluminium,eg sparkplugs, sump plugs, was a very common job to fix when I was working in the industry.Get the right tools for the job.Good luck

Thanks. Appreciate the help. I'll fire away.

#1 What should I know to start off with about the bike?
#2 If I am unsure when the bike was last serviced, what should I look out for first? What should I get serviced first?

Look around for a service manual for the bike in question. That will tell you the service intervals.

Found the service manual you had uploaded on the CBR250 forum website. Am going through it right now although am unsure of the terminology being used.

I almost always do the oil and oil filter when I get a 'new' bike.
    Peace of mind.

Assuming they are not done, what issues can the bike have?
