After your second excursion they were probably the only things worth pinching out of your pit Craig! ( Sorry that was a bit wicked )
I of course have an Ohlins watch but its safely domiciled at home, Pussy has one and also a vintage MX customer. The watch itself is big diameter and the face bright yellow and highly visible. Quite distinctive if everyone can keep an eye out for the offending lowlife.
Apparently Manfield has alot of trouble with the local kids walking around the pits waiting for garages to be empty so they can grab what they like while there's no-one around.
Pretty sad state of affairs that you cant enjoy your days racing without having something of value taken away from you.
In future you need to put everything under lock, that way you are sure to still have it once you come back in from the track.
I had my bike key stolen from the Scrutineering shed at round 6.
Piss me off Big Time and ended my day on a sour note.
It's not just Manfield.
Last time I was at a Hampton Downs ride day a group of people that clearly didn't belong turned up while the riders briefing was taking place and poked their noses around the pits.
The briefing is on pitlane while all the cars / vans / bikes are parked down on the skidpan.
As soon as people started heading back this group got in their car and left.
Don't know if anything got taken but it's a good reminder - Always lock your stuff away.
wouldent it would be worth getting security at the gates it might cost a extra $5 each but worth it in the long run
plastic fabricator/welder here if you need a hand ! will work for beer/bourbon/booze
come ride the southern roads www.southernrider.co.nz
This really pisses me off. I quite like how officials and riders let us into the pits for a close up look and to ask some dumb questions. It's shit like that, that will eventually force security or barring public access to the pits completely.

Im not sure whether this is a solution to the problem but hopefully it may help to keep what is yours from taking a walk to be never seen again.
Yep, that's what I do, its not often the pit is left totally unattended, not had anything taken yet.
It's a real worry still though you can have 10's of thousands of $ worth of gear left out for some scum bag to help themselves to.
Best approach is if you see someone you don't recognise getting to involved in someone's pit ask them what there up to. If there genuine they wont mind the check, if there up to no good they will be aware they have been spotted.
Theft is one of those crimes that really pisses me off, fukin low life shit stains too full of shit for brains to be any use to anyone. Catch um and cut their fukin hands off.
Happens at speedway as well, just small stuff at times, well when I crewed, the odd screwdriver, maybe crescent, etc. We never caught them but the lowlife scum used a crescent with said owners name on it(his workshop tools from his own business)to do a burglary, cops found the tool at scene, and followed up,luckilly we were able to say we were at Stratford the night concerned racing.
