    Auckland Luge - Silverdale

Worth a look if you're up for a bit of a laugh. Cant really remember the Rotorua track but im guessing this is somewhat shorter, has no places to get 'air' but all in all is damn good fun.

The fast track is exactly that, me and my mates ended up doing three head to head races (3 of us) down the intermediate track instead.

The luge's vibrate like hell, hence the intermediate track being a bit more enjoyable. Had a couple of good races and for once i came out as the winner of all three!

It's a bit pricey - $24 for four rides for non-members, but livened up our otherwise boring afternoon.

It's on East Coast Road, about 3km back from Silverdale.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

i didn't even know they were building one until someone at work told me bout it yesterday!

i can see many KB events going horribly wrong there

    so you like the vibrations?
it'll flatten/soften out with time, and the price might drop a smidge, or at least get 6 rides like Rotorua (I think)

I loved the luge at rotorua, trouble is that my legs are long enough that I can't pull the break back far enough. so the combination of my substantial mass pulling me down the hill, and the lack of any decent brakes leads to a few 'moments'
