Pirelli or Kenda - dumb question?

    Hopefully not.

I need a new rear tyre on my 92 GPZ500s. It's a 16 inch. Want to stick to the original size which is 120/90. Only two options I've found are the Pirelli City Demon and the Kenda K657 Challenger.

Now the Pirelli is a little more expensive and from what I can tell is really designed for small cc bikes and for commuting (which I do). It's long wearing which I guess means harder compound etc. It doesn't seem fantastically loved from what I've Googled.

The Kenda on the other hand seems to be well liked but apparently not long lasting. I suspected they even out price wise because of this.

Now I know most people will say "You're comparing a Pirelli with a Kenda?" but I'd love some feedback because my feeling is that in this instance the Kenda sound better.

If it makes any difference I've always placed handling and braking over long wearing when it comes to tyres.

    Any opinions welcome.

    Cheers.

Have you considered Michelin Pilot Sporty? You may not get the exact size but maybe something close.

I haven't used neither, but the City Demon looks to really be for slightly-bigger-than-scooter type bikes.
