Down Under Battle of the Buckets

A friend of mine who bucket races in Australia is looking at coming over here with a group of like minded people and is interested in having a ride while they are here, either later this year or next.

Just putting it out there to see who is interested in such a battle and who is willing to help out with lending their bikes?

It would be great if they had a chance to ride at the local bucket tracks as they travel around the country.
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

I would certainly let them have a go on my bike. I also have a CB125T bucket which I'm not currently using - if I still have it when they come over they are very welcome to race it - it needs a good run . Even if they crash it - no charge . I'd like to see how they go.

(Quote) After a phone around of some members (28 in all ) here in Christchurch, the consensus was that they would prefer to be called F4.

How about "Battle of the F4's"
    Sounds catchy doesn't it???

I'd been thinking this would be an interesting idea for a while.

Glad to see I'm not alone in thinking it.

The hard part is getting people to loan out decent bikes.
Also if people are loaning bikes the aren't racing against the Aussies themselves so that kinda makes it hard too.

I guess it comes down to how big the invasion is going to be. Is there any idea on what the numbers are likely to be?

Sorry all I could think of at the time.

At present it's looking like 2012 and it may only be a couple of people. Even so I think it is great idea and a great way to spend part of the time of a trip. Had I the chance I'd be keen to do the same in Aussie. Once I know numbers I let you know. I thought starting such a thread would be agreat way to work the hows whats and wheres of such a trip.

They are in for a hell of a shock. Think about it, last meeting at Philip Island, next meeting at Mt Wgtn. Christmas would be good for everybody with Taupo. Buckets would be an international class. I thought about this a long time ago and even went and costed a container to ship bikes. I was a member of the Oz BRA at the time. With the different rules some sort of dispensation would have been required which as usual with bucket racing would have been covered by simply looking the other way.

The Post Classic boys take a container full of bikes to Phillip Island each year, went with them myself a couple of times. Alister Wilton was driving it then, he would be worth talking to re costs etc........
