I took the DR our for a spin to check the newly balanced wheels, though that was just an excuse to go for a ride in this glorious weather
I decided to explore some of the smaller roads in and around Governors Bay, here on Banks Peninsula, which is something I haven't done in a long time.
The road around the waterfront used to be open to traffic, I'm not sure when they closed it off for walkers only. I was looking forward to riding that, it's another place I haven't been for ages.
Was also trying to get used to these bloody boots!
How, in God's name, do people actually wear them?? I found them heavy and restrictive. Restrictive to not only my control of the bike but also my circulation!
(and yes they are the right size and no they weren't too tight *sighs in advance of 'those' comments by 'those' people*)
Give me my normal leather boots any day! I was swearing and cursing after the first five minutes. You should have heard me *during* the first five minutes!
Can't feel the brakes, can't feel the gears, can't even feel the footpegs! What a dumb invention!
Have you noticed I didn't like them? Don't think I'll b wearing them again. I never used them when I used to do motocross and never needed them in the 29 years I've been riding, I think I'll last another 29 without them
Music from Freeplaymusic.com as usual
p.s. I think the bus may be a 1948. Still, bloomin' old and even more bloomin' cool!
*edit* This very bus was used in the movie Who Dares Wins! There's heaps on classic vehicle info online ...
