    Enclosed motorcycle racing trailer?

    All,

Looking for some ideas for an enclosed motorcycle trailer... something about the size of the Choppa 'M1 Motorsport one'. Are they custome made in NZ, or does someone make them as standard? What can I expect to pay?

I found this one this morning on Trademe... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-343835506.htm but baulked when I saw the price... or have I under-estimated the costs of such a venture?

    Any advice welcome.

    Cheers

If I had to hazard a guess I would say there'd be little change from 20K for one similar to M1 motorsports trailer to be built. I have a friend whos sons race MotoX, he's had a BIG 20 foot fucker built with kitchen unit and water tank, lights, the works.

No fucken idea what it cost but it'd be heaps.

I got a quote for $8600 + gst for a enclosed trailer from Kiwi Trailers, it had lots of bell n whistles, tandem axle also, so $6 k would be about right for this one.
$20k is not likely unless it was super stupid big..........silly trashy

Yes. That's not too bad for what you get.

If you want to scare yourself some more go see Halcrow Engineering in Naenae.

If that don't scare you then give me a call.

Yip,Just finished doing the same to a 10ft caravan,Not something I would recommend just anybody doing though,Caravans are prone to having rusted chassis as they sit around for years on end in long grass,I was lucky enough to find one that somebody had just put a brand new duragalv chassis under,Being a coachbuilder was helpful as well.

some other BMX families have got Alpaca floats. They're a bit lower & lighter than horse flo I built a purpose BMX trailer to carry 10 bikes without pulling them apart about 10 years ago - cost me $3k way back then. It easily takes a Hayabusa on its side stand, or a race 4 wheel bike, or 2 x race go carts (stacked), or 2 x P-class/Q-class yachts, or multiple plastic kayaks, or a couple of race bikes on upright stands, or as is my child's want at the moment, 2 x single or double rowing race skiffs.

...we...country boys...used a big old D4 horse carrier to cart our flat-trackers about the place...shared it with the horses...I used to dread pulling the short straw and having to ride in the back...

I've got a purpose built race trailer that I'll sell. Single axle, brakes, needs a paint job but made by engineers for engineers (me)
It's compact, light and tows really well. Has separate front compartments for tyres etc, all lockable.
