    Cat thread

Since Big Dave has started a Dog Thread, I think we should have a Cat Thread as well, yes? For those not caninely inclined y'know...

Here ya go. Mog No 1. Known as Peckitty Penekitty - which is a corruption of Princess Penelope. She got me - I didn't get her. She took over my flat about ten years ago and has stayed with me ever since.

Slyvester & Kaless. Both passed on before their time. Call me a softie, but I do miss them. Love my Moggies, but am unable to have a pet where I am now.

We had three elderly cats until recently. We're down to two now; the female we had to have put down (illness) was a complete whore. Even the kids used to call her a slut! She too loved men and would embarrass us completely by being all over male visitors like a rash. Tbh, she was quite an affectionate girl but men in particular seemed to attract her attention.
This same cat would sit on the back of the sofa and "groom" me by taking mouthfuls of my hair and dragging her teeth through it!
Will put up a piccy of her when im at my laptop.

    A cat thread? Cool.

I was trying to sleep one night in a hotel in Chengdu, China. However, a couple of cats meowed all night somewhere behind my room and I had a hell of a night.

The next morning I got up and walked around the back of the hotel and found a restaraunt for brekky. Kitten was on the menu so I had a fresh one on my table within 20 minutes.

Yummy! Tastes a bit like rabbit and a bit like chicken (white meat)

I slept quite well the next night

true story probably clouded by the constant retelling........

Of course, if anyone ate my cat I'd kill em!

My old cat Bart, part cat, part rabbit I think, could leap from the ground cleanly to the top of a 6' fence, and beat My RZ500 down the driveway....

I'm a cat rescuer - on monday I was following a car when I saw a kitten drop down and tumble onto the road,it must have climbed up into the engine bay to sleep. It rolled, got up and ran to the otherside of the road,so I picked it up and took it to my daughter, she does kitten fostering for the SPCA.All limbs, claws and teeth seemed to be working, but there was a bit of blood on it's nose. She was due to take her kittens back,so took this one too....it was feral, but only about 6 weeks old, hopefully some fostering care will turn it around.

Dusty turned up just before Xmas in 2009...she was known to us as she lived 2 doors up.They moved, but dusty didn't,and has been a good friend of mine since. Her favourite place is on my computer desk, like right now...she can sit right in front of me and get all my attention.

The next guy turned up late last year, about a year old tom cat...and I suspect in similar circumstances, his family moved.People don't moved far in a small town of rental accommodation, and cats return home.He fell in love with Dusty, and wants to be where ever she is...and she seems to tolerate him to within a metre. He was also desperate for human attention....so I did the humane thing and had him neutered. If she is Dusty, then he is smokey...so he's called Smokey Joe.The wildness seems to have gone in the few months he's been taken in,he has filled out and looking real healthy.

Being an ex tom,he's a tough guy and full of muscle...he's not soft and floppy like most cats.He has a good tactic for dealing with tom cats - he stands tall and gets really into their face, nose to nose.To take a swipe at him they have to move back, then it's all over.He used to be covered in scars...now he never loses.Click image for larger version.
