Refresher ACC sponsored course at Taupo?

I kept an ad from our local rag last year advertising about some Hamilton courses and some at Taupo for $30. One at Taupo was for returning riders which the old man is interested in doing.

But do you think I can find the bloody ad again? And do you think I can find the info by searching the interweb?

There was a post about the local Hamilton one last year. Does anyone know the date and contact info for the one in Taupo? I want to contact the organisers and just check what they work on or if he'll be better doing one of the beginner/intermediate courses (not that I can find info on any of them).

I know it was "sponsored" by the rideforever website and I thought it would have been logical to advertise sponsored training courses on that. Obviously not. Stupid really since I thought the site was for training. Oh well.

So anyone know anything about them?

The bloke who was training the Hamilton one that happened in December was Wayne Holden of Holden Driver Training, I've met them a few times and he and his wife are really nice, I'd suggest you give them a bell and just ask.

    Good luck.

In case anyone else is looking at some info about this course, I actually finally got some from a great person at ACC.

It's on Feb 5 at Taupo track and it's run by the Honda Riders Club with Aaron Slight (should make things interesting).

After emailing Wayne Holden, he said there's going to be another one in March in Hamilton with 7 instructors taking it. A lot of them ex-cops. He said the advertising for that will start in Feb. Dad will more than likely do this one as well and it actually sounds pretty good.

For what it is worth I have done several Rider training ("Track") days.
The Honda Riders Club one with Aaron Slight was easily the most informative and best run.

If you are not used to riding on a Track, beware of the moron who insists on passing you on the inside as you tip into a corner, it will freak you out. Because of these clowns I will probably never again attend one of these training days.

He will once he finishes the house (well painting before the carpet anyway) and I'd say after this weekend. It'll be a good test to see how he is after the training day. See how much confidence they can put back in him
