Having a play on my dyno

I have someone wanting to use my dyno to see the effect of some new mufflers on Monday. Anyone else what to have a go?
It hasn't been used for 2 years, so I hope I can get it all to go - still need to sort out the power supply and computer.
If you want to have a go, a few rules:
Calibration is a bit out (still need to do a bit of work on it) so it reads low compared to Dynojets (which read high IMO). Consistant from run to run, but no good for bragging numbers. It the HP reading is approx the kW reading of the same motor on a Dynojet (or with my old software)
your bike will need a starter
I don't have a gas analyser, so no C0, C)2 readings sorry. Have to do jetting the hard way...
Most importantly, no responsibiltiy, liability or any other -ty for anything that happens in any way, any how, any where. if your bike blows up, sympathy is all you are entitled to, and no guarentees on that.
This is a hobby project, I don't do this for a living. It is an experimental machine so it still has certain... features.
If anyone knows of a CHEAP 2 gas or 4 gas analyser, let me know. Also, if anyone can get the instruction books for a Dynojet or other,for me to have a quick peek at to liberate any ideas :-)

I have one of the old Sun 12V 2 gas analysers,we used to use them in the CNG days,but with the low emmissions these days the needles hardly even move - but it may be ok on a dirty old bike.I doesn't work anymore and was told by the guys who service them that it not worth fixing...maybe some one noes electronic gizmos could sort it out.

Yes - been an ongoing project for a number of years. See http://pages.quicksilver.net.nz/geoffm and follow the links. Nothing much has happened in the last couple of years or more, since I was in Christchurch. I still need to spend some time on learning how to drive the data aquisition system properly and consistently get a clean ignition signal. The black box can be used for on-baord data aquistion as well, and I have a spare loom for doing that on the bike "one day: It is the Performance Trends Datamite (www.performancetrends.com). Since I got it, a couple of others have come out, and for dyno use, IMO the Sport Devices system from Spail looks better and easier to use. There is also the Dyno46 system from Malaysia.

The guy who was going to use the dyno had to bail with bike tyre problems, and due to work can't do it until March, so I have gone back to my cave to work on my thesis again. If there is interest, I might have a go next weekend - any takers let me know.

Any idea of what is wrong with it? Can't say I know enough about electrocics to fix one. Let me know if you come across any others (in working order) - age doesn't matter - it is not going to see much use.

Frosty: I don't know if you're taking the piss or not, I was only intending to use it for three hours, and the $200 is more like $185 and includes $20 oil. Managed to strip the carbs four times to change main jets, balance the carbs and fit in 29 runs. ended up with exact same HP/Torque but took a big dip out of the curve at 10g

geoffm: I could come up (maybe) and get a run or two in and you could calibrate your dyno from the readings I got off my bike on Sat?

I've got it at work in Auckland,but could bring it home easily enough.I've had it repaired before,and for awhile had one of the guys who worked at the repair company (in Sylvia Park rd) as a customer,he had a quick look while I did a WoF for him and he said it wasn't worth repairing.It's of no use in my day to day business,but it'd be kinda handy for when I have to jet the XT,if you could get it going it'd be free for communal use....so long as I get a turn myself!

That would be handy. Be interesting to see how it compares. You doing anything Waitangi weekend?

It is a hobby thing - no charge. I have a fan, but it is a bit uundersized. A couple of runs is ok, before it started getting warm.
It is at my folks palce in South Auckland
