    Car tracking security (via GPS?)

We are putting the finishing touches on our GTR drag/street car and are now looking at added security for it. This car represents well over $100k in build costs, not to mention a lot of time invested by many people. So to stop any cretins out there thinking about adding it to their collection, we've no problem in spending decent coin on protecting her. Added security has been put in place already, virtually making it impossible to be 'lifted', but you can never have too much security.

So I was thinking GPS tracking for it. Checked the net and saw that Vodafone and Chubb do a system, but the web page was from 2001!! Does anyone know whether this is still in operation, and if so how good is it. Or does anyone know another company who specialise in this sort of product/service?

    Thanks in advance.

    Traking It

Based in NZ, not sure how brilliant they are, but they do that sort of thing I believe, other than that, I have no knowledge of them.

From what I have been hearing on the news either here or in Aussie all you need to do is take that machine of yours out on the street and see what it can do - following that you will soon have a GPS tracking device on it for free!! and one that monitors you every movement!!

Seriously though, have you used data dots? I am considering them for a bike, has any one done this?

I know Chubb still do their one. Don't know about Voda.
Go to a good car alarm shop and ask about GPS tracking on the car. They might not be able to install it, but they should know about it, and who can fit it.

I had thought about getting the bike fitted with one, but the costs for a bike aren't viable in the end, and the insurance (from what I've been told) isn't reduced either...
