There is very little in the music world that doesn't have some sort of positive influence on musicians, dancers, writers, composers, film directors, etc. A huge number of non-musician music lovers know what I'm talking about too.

Even when I was playing nothing but metal, and bahaving in a "staunch" fashion, I still desparately wanted to play in a Jazz Big Band, and I still loved Souza's marches. Trying explaining that to a self-taught "metal-rules" guitar "legend" you're playing with.
