    Taumarunui Friday nite? (18 February)

Anyone heading to Taumaranui Friday night? Or is everyone heading there Saturday? (first weekend in March - sorry figured everyone would know I was talking about the NI round).

I've almost convinced myself to finish work early Thursday, head to Taupo, do a women's training day on Friday, then head over to Taumaranui Friday night.

The motor camp's $45 a night for a cabin. Didn't seem to say for how many. I'll be on my bike, so only a small backpack (for clothes) and Henk can bring the tent down Saturday. (I have been told multiple times I snore, and especially when pissed - so most nights, but I shouldn't fall asleep eating a meal, you should be safe).

If anyone is keen to meet me for a meal or something, that'd be good, otherwise I'll spag out on my own (doubt it'll be a late one somehow).

But planning on being at Taumaranui, in any case.

Not sure who edited the heading, but I'm talking first weekend in March, so think 3rd.

now tell me how the Taumarunui race day goes?

I am quite keen to have a go... as long as my bike is a runner and it should be.

Does everyone stay at the camp ground?
What sort of time does the racing finish... thinking about the drive home.

Drive home is no drama, all wrapped up by about 3 last year I think.
Last year was NI series Saturday, HB club round Sunday, not sure what the format is this year but it will probably take me all the riding I can get on the Saturday to find a nice line through the sweeper and up the hill.

Arron, they're setting you crook (just for a blardy change) - we don't stay at the campground, we camp at the track. It's only about 3 hours home, not a biggie. I was/am going to stay at the campground on Friday night as I'm not taking a tent with me - not sure if we can camp at the track Friday night???? anyone???

If you're worried about getting home by a certain time, leave earlier. It's two days at a different track, it's all good. Town's about 5 minutes away (probably more, but as I don't wear a watch everything seems to take less time than it actually does - except work).

Which bike should be a runner? Don't tell me that the "new" one is really ready? Or you mean the old one?

Oh, and the end result of my original post is Henk's coming down to supervise me on the Friday night.

    Oh yeah!
I just think of the track as a lovely scenic camp ground I guess...

And you are dead right. I'm convinced people would pay to camp there. I know I would. Lovely setting, river, racetrack, what more do you need?

Restaurant and alcohol supplied. Hmm, hope the showers work this year and that the rowdy mob don't show. Sheesh, think of the kids.

Koba - could see you'd just overlooked the fact we don't stay at the campground (Henk's not that bright anyway, so typical for him) but I had mentioned the real campground in my original post (no idea where it is) and Aaron gets enough grief from us anyways, he'll start thinking we don't like him if we set him too far crook.

quite a few Aucklanders actually seem keen this year to do the series. I'm just a booze hag who enjoys getting on her bike and away from Auckland and now upset as Trudes won't be there and I still want to see how I compare to her (Kaitoke Easter is sounding better, but I'll just blame the fact she has a home advantage for kicking my arse there - or the bottle & smokes and lack of natural/any ability).

Yes the FXR... hell would not be seen on the old heap ..LOL.

BUT it wont be painted or dynoed etc... not sure how rough it will be but it getting close.

So when do people get there? Saturday morning I guess. Staying at the track sounds good. Guess I will have to take the campervan so I have a HOT shower and comfortable bed. LOL. Only problem is no towbar so someone will have to drive. And forget the 3hrs it will be more like 4... Comfort or speed, seems like a question asked a million times.

Right time to rally the troops.

Also what size sproket do people use?
