How short and tight is it?

The 13/49 works good at Roys Hill, My son is only 50kg with his gear tho

I hope to have my FZR/TF125 ready, hasnt been run before so it's shakedown meeting should be in March

Its longer and more open than Roy's so I've been told. 13 49 should be fine. With the 12 on the front you get to use all the gears. Check out the King of kaitoke vids of mine that should give you an idea of what the track is like.

Might see you out there as well, picked up a 3XV yesterday. There is a two day even at taupo 12th & 13th feb(http://www.sportsground.co.nz/files/...47VLAQFDUV.pdf), track day 12th, racing 13th - F3 and open twin classes, open twin purely for more track time.

I tried a 12/49 last time, going to try 13/49 at Easter, should work out better for me.

    As fun as it is to talk the shit about each others can we get back to the topic in hand oops I mean at hand;
How the planning coming along for the weekend?

It would be nice to have some sort of get together on the first day's night. What do you all think?

When and how are the entries being taken?

I had a look at last years initial program, seemed a solid starting point.
Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

I run an 11/49 gearing on my stock FXR150 (yes, 11 tooth front) and I get nice and high through the rev range in 6th, but not all the way past it's useful power. It works really well, I do the whole track in 4th and only need 5th and 6th for the back straight and up (or down) the hill. I will probably need to change to 12/49 when I get my cams sorted.

I have used 12/49 on the stock FXR150 before and I was only getting 6th gear going Reverse direction down the hill and not using much of 6th gear. It also meant I was having to change gears in some of the more tighter spots on the track.

So how does that compare to gearing for Ruapuna when you were down here?

You might want to gear your south island bikes as high as you can that back straight is about six ks long
It's not what you ride but how you ride it!!

A grader and B grader on the same bike for a 55 min race.
    Reverse direction race.
    Le Mans start.
Anything that seems like a good idea...
