    Gsxr250 fuel capacity

Just to start think these bikes are great I love mine goes real well iam 6'1" and about 100kgs and it hauls arse much quicker than my car and gets to 130 real quick (havent had it faster yet will wait till im on a track) Took it for a nice ride today and got about 5.1l per 100k so was wraped with that to... But I have to ask every where I read says these bikes have a 16ltr tank in them with 2 ltrs for the reserve but every time I full up (after Just hitting reserve) it only takes 10ltrs... Is this normal what do others get in there tank?

how many k's do you get out of your bike before you go to fill up again?

Edit: 16 litres seems quite a lot for that type of bike, are you sure it isn't 14l?

Ok thanks for that had a look at the user manual instead of whats on the net and that says 14ltr total (including a 2.4ltr reserve) I do have a small dent on the top of my tank maybe thats where iam losing a bit last top up I put in exactly 10.8ltrs I hadnt reached reserve either and had done 210k (using caltex 95)(open road) my previous fill only got 140k to 10ltrs (using BP 98)(More of a mix of open road and town) So it looks like the fuel capacity looks good...

Whats everyone else geting out of a gsxr250? and what fuel are you using?

Yeah the net isn't always right, one site I googled stated 16litres, but that didn't seem quite right. So another site showed 14l tank which seemed more realistic.

Have a read of this thread and see if this helps at all:

Most people with bikes of that vintage would run 95 I believe, I run it personally on my 4 cylinder 250.

If your bike gets about 250k on a tank with open road riding then I reckon that is pretty darn good for a performance 250. Your bike either doesn't like 98 (I'm no expert on fuels so don't quote me) or it's just thirsty around town, but that's all relative to how you drive around town, i.e. if you haul ass from the lights at any chance you get.
