1000 pw is good for a large furnished 3 bedroom high rise apt. So me and a couple of flatmates (1 couple) are keen to take something like that. Comes with 2 carparks and a bathroom. We decided to split as follows.

I pay 150 pw and take over the lease, the other single pays 300 (get's one carpark) couple pays 550 as they get the best, biggest room with en suite and a carpark. I get to park my bike in dark corner of a secure underground garage for free.

But now I've lost all interest and have found a new place. I just don't think as a property owner I would hire these property managers.

What they do is not worth 8% of rent and letting fees.

Dear god sounds like a flatting situation that could go belly up and any stage and leave you with a contract of $1000 p/w to the landlord. Don't do it!! You could find a place living on your own and pay all your expenses AND feed yourself for WAY less than $1000 p/w.....

their main job* is to provide security to landlords that munter tenants arent trashing their rental property. Anything they can leech out of tenants is a bonus.

I still think that a grand a week is insane, no matter how its split. and if they bugger off on you, your name on the lease, your arse on the line.

    whatever, do what you want.

*which generally they are spectatularly useless at.

What you need to do if your really pissed off with the service etc from the property managers is let the owner know! He's the bugger loosing all the rent you could have been paying him!

I love Dunedin, And your right Jim there is no Graphitti and even the people that are outside the court house are whitetish...

When I was down there with my Ex Japanese partner..The locals were looking at me strange rather than her ! !

But i guess the biggest problem would be living with COCKS like you...

Well, she did have a teeny tiny bit of maori in her on occassions, but luckily she flushed that out!

If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
