FI warning light on GSXR 1000 K9- L0

I was wondering if anyone had come across this problem before. Brainstorm would help. However if someone could pin point the problem and offer solutions that would be ideal.

I've got s L0 Gsxr 1000. We recently fitted a quickshifter and got its sensitivity just right. However, sometimes it won't shift and hence revs to the limiter and bounces for half a second while I manually shift. That triggers the FI warning light on the dash until I turn the key off and on (have to wait till I finish my race / track session). Why is this happening?

During the Endurance race it was on quite a while. When I started it at Manfield at PMCC R2 it stuttered puffing smoke out the exhaust and then just died on the race stands - was idling at about 500 RPM very roughly and inconsistently. (sounded like it was running out of fuel). Then when I restarted it left it on for 5 mins it was like it was tuning itself again and began to idle normally at about 1200 RPM.

Can anyone explain why this is happening. I have a vague idea but more importantly what can I do to stop the FI warning light on the dash. I know it is to do with the quickshifter bypassing the ECU and sending a signal to the computer to cut the throttle for 200ths of a second while I shift gears. Get rid of it for me please and get my quickshifter working 100% everytime so I can concentrate on other more important things.

    Thanks in advance!

You'll find that it's your FI warning light, not a F1 light. FI stands for fuel injection. F1 stands for formula one.

My K7 used to spend a fair bit of time on the limiter, never saw an FI light once. It's got an issue somewhere there Raj, I'd be inclined to let a Suzuki shop run a diagnostics on it. Or get the electrical bridge needed so that when it happens again you can see the fault code.
