    As a parent of a young kid (and another on the way)...I could barely read that case of the effwit playing Playstation with a dying baby next to him !!

    And I agree with Buellbabe, animal cruelty is just intolerable.
    I would shoot the bastards that do these things if it wasn't illegal in itself.

    I'm trying to tell you about the definition of news and you go off on a rant about seals. The reason you don't see articles like what you posted in other countries is that given a large enough population base those sorts of things happen all the time.

    In Brazil murders happen everyday, most of them go unreported, you know why? BECAUSE THEY HAPPEN EVERYDAY. Hence, they are not news. Over in NZ we'll be hearing about it for months after, because it does not happen everyday. QED.
