Hi, I got home from work yesterday to find that my son has brought a "Project scooter" for his dad fix so that he can ride it to school........

I've started pulling it down and notice that there is a load of oil in the air intake. Is this standard or a symptom of a larger problem (rings failing). Thanks for your help/thoughts.

2 stroke so no. The oil will have leaked from anywhere back out the carb when it was upside down in a dump.

It will be a total POS & worn out to the max. Whether you'll ever be able to get the brakes & worn out front suspension (check the slop it will have) fit enough that you'd want your child to ride it around busy wellington streets is more than questionable.

Best use is a out of the way field & cane it to death for fun.

Find some money & get him something safer.
