Has anyone used these 1-Tonne boots?

Just had a look around some some cheapish boots for track/road riding. I found these on the 1-Tonne site: http://www.1tonne.co.nz/index.php?pa...=&categoryid=6

They look pretty alright, rigid ankle support, toe sliders etc. Just wondering if anyone has a set of these and can give me some info as to the quality.

    Cheers,
    Vin

Bald Eagle got t-boned by a car and was wearing 1-Tonne touring (?) boots and swears by them. I dear say that the road/race versions would be of similar quality.

I had the road touring boots of theirs - not the road / race ones you are looking at. Mine we cheap, comfortable and supprted my angel well when my bike fell over on it, but leaked like an absolute sive with the first dose of rain I got.

But, I know others that use these (the ones you are looking at) and recommend them.

Indeed I do, have still got them and they never leaked even when riding in screaming Welly weather.

Have to agree, mine have always leaked really badly (supposed to be water proof ) but other than that I like them...

    1Tonne Boots

Both my husband and myself have bought not only 1 tonne jackets/pants but the boots as well and they are absolutely amazing. Extremely hard wearing, comfortable and the price tells the true story. The products from 1 tonne are right up there with the best.

Nice to know you're angel is supported....that's why you're so beautiful, it's all in the boots

i have them for a race boot, very uncomfortable for a short time and now they are broken in they are fine. The hinge squeeks but is fine at the track (coffee shop mite be an issue) all in all bloody good bang for buck boot. I also have tested their crashability and confirm they work

Mine shagged out after a year, 1tonne said it was highly unusual and offered a no cost replacement. I have 1tonne gloves and leather pants too, damn good gear for the price.
I wouldn't recommend those boots though (same as mine) if you plan on walking very far...they are awesome to ride with, but, somewhat horrid to walk in.

Just a quick update, ordered some of these in the size 11, didn't realise that the sizing advertised was a UK 12/NZ 11. So I sent them back to swap for a UK 11, which 1tonne did for me no problem.

They seem to be pretty good so far, nice rigid ankle support. A great boot for the price!
