    Non O-ring chain?

Discovered after about three months, that the GB has a non O ring chain fitted. Dont know how long it has been on but the sprockets are still good, in the 5,000ks' I have done, have only had to adjust the chain a few times, its not anywhere near worn. I clean and lube it regularly.

    Has anyone else struck this?

    and the problem is???

Some bikes dont have enough clearance to run the wider O ring chains, just lube and replace more often ;-)

    As Paul says, lube/inspect often.
The GB will be kind to non O-ring chain, as the HP isn't huge.
Just fitted a DID heavy duty non o-ring to kanny's KLE500 this arvo.
Correct chain slack, (always check slack with rider weight on the bike),
and good sprockets are the key

There's no problem. The manual mentions an o ring chain so someones done a cheap replacement at some time. Both this '87 manual and the one for my 2008 bike states to clean and then wipe the chain with S.A.E 80-90 gear oil. I wonder if anyone uses this method of lubing the chain.

A non o ring chain can out last a o-ring chain with the same tensile strength. keep the chain lubed and clean
