CRAZY STEVE is a lying, stealing piece of shit.
He tricked our young service receptionist into letting his bike out after been serviced & lied about paying his bill
Many months later after not paying his bill he came up with this story of his bike burning down his garage even though there was many months between the service & the fire ( Bikes don't mysteriously self ignite anyway )
Steve is well known by many dealers for his dodgy practices
Believe it or not but dealers do talk to each other & your name ( Steven Lee, Steven Tipene or what ever other name you use ) has often being discussed.
I would appreciate the $1000 you owe me otherwise my alternate offer still stands

Great to hear Boyds side of the story.
It's an awesome example of a m/cycle firm doing the best it can in a difficult trading time.
Crazy Steve on the other hand........................

Over 15 years (probably closer to 20 years if I think about it) of awesome service from the staff at Boyds. Never had a problem with the service, conduct or products in that entire time. Doesn't take a genius to figure out which side of this story I believe.

    +1 on the Boyds front.

They have been great to deal with, parts and accessories trying their best to find gear for my little daughter - mission not accomplished yet but getting there!

Good experience with buying a bike and being looked after when there was a minor problem, out of warranty I might add but they sorted it no problems and very promptly.

Only small minus was when looking for a cruiser, they kept trying to point me to an old Intruder, when I was more interested in the C50 they had on the floor, now I am on a Harley.

So I haven't really had experience with the workshop. But I rate the store pretty highly.

I have been dealing with Boyds since 1978, and can't say enough about them.
Lyndon is an awesome mechanic and I'm looking forward to seeing Greg fight...

So why did Honda Nz dump you as a dealer Mr Boyd ? ?

Was it because of stories like this ? ? Bikes that you had serviced just catching fire ? ?

    Crazy Steve.

Honda weren't pleased when one of their best dealerships in the country decided to go with the opposition. But Honda dealers are quite restricted in many ways. Suzuki aren't keen on multiple brand dealerships, but at least they don't prevent it like Honda does.

Interesting thread, I have recently moved to halfway between Pukekohe and Hamilton and would like to hear about the local shops.
Both centres have 4 or 5 bike shops so the options are open on who to see.
For now I have been going to Counties Honda in Pukekohe for tyres and spares. Have also been to Mr Motorcycles and found both shops helpful and polite. I don't get any servicing done as I am master of my bikes, not the other way around but interesting to read about the different places.
Coming from West Auckland- where every bike shop has now closed and into the North Waikato has been refreshing as there are I think 8 bike shops within a 30 minute ride of my place and the choices are wide.
    Keep 'em coming

I know I should do Murray. I did go there for the first time since I moved south, this week actually. Checked out a few bike shops and was impressed with some of them.
Problem is that Pukekohe bike shops have been so good to me so far that I would feel like I was cheating on them if I went elsewhere.

Going back to Hamilton on Monday, already invited to the JMK's for a cuppa but I don't know if time will permit. I stopped in there this week, so if I can I will make an effort to drop in and see you...maybe I will have a new (old) bike with me on the trailer as well
