Oxtars are TCX now I believe. Couldn't find any Oxtars when I was told they were good. So I think they have changed to TCX

I think the question is whats the best......

    Alpinestar Supertech R
    Sidi Vorticsomething
    Daytona
    Dianese

I think the Daytona is actually the best from what I have heard. The Alpinestar is the best to ride in and the whole inside of the boot is smooth so it doesnt get hooked up like sidi tcx garne etc etc with hinges and plastic on the inside that gets caught on your rearsets etc

Edit: OK...it looks like the site I was looking at yesterday is outta date.....following the links on this one brings them up as tcx, and a different model. Oh well, back to what Choppa sez....

    Yip that was me.

Cheers for the advise on the boots everyone, i have herd good things on both the SIDI's and the alpinestars, think ill just have to try them all on and see what ones fit the best.

The only others I was looking at was the Puma GP1000 V3 boots, has anyone tried these on or owned a pair?

    Cheers

I had a look at the Puma's as well as the Sidi and Alpinestars. The bracing on the inside exterior of the boot looked like it may get hooked up on the rearsets etc (like wat choppa said). I reckon your onto though. Try them on and see what's most comfy. The Gaerne's seem to be great value, but you are after maximum protection.

I reckon any of them are pretty good - probably depends a lot on exactly how you go down. A pair of Sidi Vertisomethings saved my ankle from breaking, although the foot was bent down pretty far and I had one hell of a sprained ankle - that was a side impact bike/bank then over the top of the bike type impact. I could even hobble around for a few hours after. Once I took the boot off however..........

So... Sidi Or Alpinestars is what it has come down to, hard decision to make....

Both take about same time to put on, both look good, one has boot inside of another (a*) and other has all external protection and support.

Price is much in a muchness,

Both seem to flex easy enough for gear changers etc.

Only thing I can really say that separates them, is the sidi is more of a custom fit with all the tensioner's, but in saying that I dont think my foot is going to come out of the Alpinestar either.

Sidi also allows you to replace outer panels.... Astar doesnt

    Any thoughts or input?

Hey man, if you have the cash, Daytonas are the best. I can't afford them... so I have some Alpinestars, which IMO offer better protection than the Sidis, however my boots don't hold a feather to the protection you get in a pair of Daytonas. The best, period.

Security EVO or EVO sports or if you want waterproof Evo Sports Goretex (GTX)

The best of the Daytonas for protection is the Security EVO.... go bend one of those laterally at the ankle and compare it to anything else.

I would also get the Daytonas if money was no object, you will shit yourself when you see a price.

    Hey,

470 Pounds for the daytonas, not cheap and they certainly are a boot only a mother could love.

Probably slightly leaning to Astars at mo now, get cast off next week and will be able to try a pair on rather than one boot haha.

Ill let you know what I decide.
