Soz to hear about your run in with the po-po roo. I believe your take on events, especially knowing what happened the last time you had an "incident" on a motobicycle.
Hope it works out for you bro. And hope you don't meet any 300lb guys named Bubba during any transactions with the constabulary![]()
Tha Jandal: Adding another dimension to "rubber side down"
Jandal [jan-duhl] noun: a mythical entity presiding over bikers
Jandal [jan-duhl] verb: "to jandal" is to involuntarily separate from one's boik.
Jandalled [jan-duhlled] past tense - usage: "bro, I've just gone and jandalled it"
Yeah, I know, I couldn't help myself. It just seemed like the thing to do at the time.Originally Posted by Jantar

roo, what speed were you clocked at to be walkin round for a while?
He didnt get a speed (serious crash unit = no radar or hoojy-wotsit-gadgets...), so I still hold a license (till the judge kicks me in the bum at least anyway...) and I think it's blatantly foolish to post speeds in here anyhow... especially in this case (where it's yet to go before court) so "neg, I wont say."Originally Posted by bugjuice

No thanks, I'll leave the fudge packing for you and your Bro.Originally Posted by WINJA
He did, however, have a couple of well-crafted attempts at coercing an admission of speed out of me though. This highlights the point that's been made many many times: "You have a right to remain silent SO USE IT".Originally Posted by roo
Unless you are aware of the way these guys structure their questions/conversation to get details out of you (with the (mostly) sole objective of prosecution), and can think on your feet fast enough to not incriminate yourself, then keep your mouth closed and let your lawyer do the talking.
Lets go hijack all their camels... and crash them into their tents :raghead:
Thats just what i did Roo the race track is the place to be what is the point of a ZX10 on the road?,its a sad waste of bike but he he its a free country. Now i use my nice slow XRV750.
Just wondering about m/c road deaths are they all from runners.I thought it was junctions u-turns and off road bikes putting up Acc costs.
Man dont complain about the price of ACC, for what it costs each year its fucken cheap when ya concider the cost of the repairs you need when ya arse off.....my last off cost acc $11,000 and your complaining about $150???? its not just "dipshits" that crash, something YOU need to bear in mind.....wheelies are cool in the dirt for sure...but take it from me they are just as much fun on the road or track....Originally Posted by Lee Rusty
no to put too fine-a-point on it... but if roo done bad, roo gets to pay.
You do the crime you do the time.
Roo - good luck dude, sounds like you're going to need it. DON'T do anything that will incriminate you (postig speeds in here or relinquishing your right to remain silent etc) and put up a good defence.
You're fine to do all that stuff... but... the simple fact is you did something stupid and you're likely to pay a price for that. I believe that's what punishment and the law is all about.
Personal accountability. It's not a tough one.

you MIGHT want to give some thought to all the moto-x accidents and ensuing costs that suck up road riders ACC fees as well given that the off road boys don't need rego before spouting such things.Originally Posted by Lee Rusty
i can see why you're a little niggly about ACC etc but I think you've missed the boat on this thread (besides, there's a PLETHORA of other sports that have huge injury bills and contribute sweet nowt to the costs)
Ahh, great, another thread with the diametricly opposed parties of those for runners and those against, going off at each other.
ACC levies presumably stem from ACC having to get money to pay claims - so where does a claim come in to doing a runner? Or is that after you've been beaten up by the cops and you put your claim in for compensation? Because if you do a runner and don't injure yourself (note this includes both runners where you get caught and those where you don't) then there should be no need for an ACC claim. So the tossers who link runners back to ACC premiums must be referring to police brutality. So I agree with you guysRunners may well result in increased ACC premiums.
The people who say that runners result in accidents, unnecessary risks, etc etc etc are living in a bloody dream world. Do you guys think that you need to up the ante over what you were already doing to get away? Sometimes not. Have you never ridden a modern sportsbike? Many times certain people I know well () have got away without the need to wind it on more so than they normally would anyway. So another myth I don't agree with.
Runners may be dangerous (as all high speed/high risk riding is), but let's face it - some of us do runners, some of us don't. Some of us ride at the speed of "runners" in the normal course of our riding, some of us don't. So really having a funny looking car behind (usually WAY behind) you doesn't make all that much difference in terms of speed/risk. And you sanctimonious twats standing on your high horses spouting bollocks should just accept that's how it is.
And as for that bollocks about not outrunning the radio - oh my f***ing God, you guys need to get your heads out of the sand. What purpose does a radio serve? They can have a chit chat about the road conditions, speed, direction of travel and possibly a description of the bike (one I heard on the scanner of a real live KB member getting some attention was "it was white, one of those jap bikes, doing 147, saw me and took off really fast"). And that was the ENTIRE pursuit. Sure, every cop in a 20km radius knew about it, but there are a lot of places to hide in that situation, if they even needed to hide before they got home.
But we don't live in Auckland, so we don't have a chopper to deal with. That might have an influence on whether a runner was on or not.
Roo, my condolences mate. Good luck in court and may the 5-0 Gods turn a blind eye for the future.
