I won a slow race on an AX100 once, does that exclude it?

Would you consider a 150cc XR200 legal to race?
I thought the difference between a XR and XL was that XL's has lights that actually made light and XR's had those silly dim things and no battery.
Cant really sse a issue with a XR as a bucket, even if the XR engine has got a differnt cam and bigger carb compared to a XL its mods you could do to the XL engine anyway.

XR's were road legal too, they had a exemption for blinkers and brake lights (maybe on the brake light) as did TY and possibly IT Yamahas. All you had to fit was a horn, Remember all the dirt bikes with a squeeze type horn in the 80's

    It's not like its a CR80 that was/is a real MX bike
Dale Kerrigan: If there's anything Dad loved more than serenity, it was a big two stroke engine on full throttle!

That's the distincion I've been keeping in mind

XR100 trail bike, CR80 Race bike

CR150F (or something like that) trail bike CRF150R definitely race bike.

As for an XR200 winning an enduro these days, it would have to have an exceptionaly gifted rider on board to stay on time and would get utterly toasted in the specials. In a really snotty slogfest, lack of power might not be an issue but the woeful suspension and low ground clearance would quickly become an issue.
