    Cheap as chips project GSX550ED

Regrettably, I need to sell my awe inspiring GSX550ED Post Classic project. I'm finding all my time is spent on my MVX and I'm loving it so much that when the first one's finnished, I'll start on the second one. Also, with the introduction to Sidecar racing I don't think I'll be racing a solo again anytime soon.

Details of the GSX as follows including the bits good and not so good.

It's a strong runner but will need a camchain as it's pretty rattly. Comes with a complete spare motor which needs a rebore and new pistons and rings before reassembly. Head's in good nick.

I imported an original factory fairing from Canada which was the only one I could find in the world. It's in really good nick but needs painted.

Really the bike requires a full strip down and rebuild but is totally complete with the exception of the sidecovers and the grabrail. Tonnes of spares which ammount to almost a full bike with the exception of frame and body work. I've got new fork seals and brake pads also.

Great project for someone with more time than me, I'd really like to see it go to someone who'll restore or race it.

Text me or PM me an offer. Pick-up only or you organise the freight.

    Cheers

i'm guessing it's yours for a back tyre for a sidecar, or a trailer ride home for an MVX?

Id be to scared to buy it - I'd neither restore it OR race it... Besides - dont they have the odd 16" front???

I had one as a teenager. TBH my memories of the times are kinda foggy, but through the haze i can confirm 16" front.

    What were they thinking?

Open to offers on it if anyone's keen

16 inch fronts aren't that bad actually, couple of decent options for tyre sizes available now as well. I was amazed at how well the GSX handled for an old bike when I rode it. (On a closed road of course )
