Cheap source for engine oil in Wgtn?

I have done a search as there is a thread somewhere, but what I am trying to find is a source of good, cheap oil (ie: less than retail) for the FJ

Just some standard 20W50 and I am ok as to whether it is in 4L or 20L containers, and prefer a Wgtn pickup...

    thanks!

I wouldn't skimp on oil too much. It's not like you have to change the oil every couple of weeks, and unless it burns or leaks a lot of oil, an extra $10 at every oil change is cheap peace of mind.

The Castrol mineral oil seems good, and it's reasonably cheap.

I am a great fan of Valvolene in 10litre commercial packs. Keep an eye out the 20w50 is on sale about 1/3rd of the time at supercheap. I think the last one I brought was $50.

Go buy Diesel engine oil with the JASO-MA rating (ok for wet clutches) if ya wanna save a buck or two. It'll work as well as most m/c specific oils.

You could get used oil from your local truck stop far cheaper than new oil.....pre-charged with...

Soot (abrasive, hard as diamonds to stop cylinder glazing)
Iron (We all know we need Iron to be healthy)
Chrome, Copper, Lead, Silicon, Aluminum, possibly Nickel, and a host of others
Pre depleted additive package including dispersants, antifoaming agents, viscosity modifiers.

pre loved oil takes all the hard work out of contaminating and depleting your own new oil.

I'm imagining you've never paid $36-40 per litre of oil then?

    +1

The mixed fleet lubes are particularry good oils I have been using them for decades in my vehicles.

I do like the fact that they have a strong detergent package so keep all the particles in suspension better than std motor oil. They also have a stronger anti acid chemicals so manage acidic wear-damage better.
