I quickly left the amerikan gixxer sites too, Gregonz. There just isn't the humour on those sites - all bloody serious and polite - except when they're flaming each other of course...

Lots more fun on here I find. Ain't nothing like kiwi humour.

I have to agree slofox....I think our humour is completely lost on americans and thiers on us. The m109 and Canadian m90 sites are great for mod ideas and how-too's for your bike as they are certainly not afraid of trying new things and modifying thier machines.

Yeah, you get the same on the american XL forum. Man are they happy to chop and mod.

Lots of knowledge, but I like the humour and piss taking of a kiwi forum.

Welcome fella, fwiw ive been both the owner of an old TL Suzuki for over a decade and member of an American based TL forum, can still remember the period soon after joining the site, was like Wtf are they on about but after some time kind of adapted to there speak/humour,same as ours but different eh,as you say the bonus is the never ending stuff you can buy at bloody good prices, theres some well clever buggers on said site that simply make things they cant buy and dont mind doing it in numbers to cover there costs, anyway welcome from another "getting on a bit '.Enjoy.

Welcome to KB. Have you heard about the Boulevard Ralleys? Sure you have, and have no doubt already done them. They sound great and I would be joining them too if I was keeping my beloved m50.
Yep the rallies are look great...have not been on one as it just has not worked out with work etc....hope to get on the North Island one. I had the m50 and it was a fun bike.....are you going away from the sport cruiser??? The M90 is a certianly a lot more crazy fun!!

...i've met some really cool people on the yank sites, pretty hard going tho (americanism), just another bunch of lost colonials, in the main...I grind bits from the bottom of the LeadWing often...probably why my wife opted for her own mode of excitement...

Thought I was a cruiser girl through and through but between my absolute block of peg scraping, and the lack of having thunder thighs to catch my bike when I need to, I must do what I must do.

However - if something magic did happen, and I was able to, I would keep to bully and buy something else on the side - would have loved to have gone to at least one of the Boulevard Rallys. They really are beautiful bikes, and I've met a GREAT bunch of folk who ride them.

As for the age thing - you are only as old as the women you feel. I must be a true spring chicken as women just terrify me!!!

hiyah greg and welcome to KB. Its full of shite, and fun and crazy people and its usually a great wee community once you wade through the bullshit.

Good luck with the rides, theres quite a good crowd in Palmy and they always seem to be up for a ride somewhere.

Yep you are spot on...there seems a great comradeship amongst the bully ownwers. It would be great to be in a position to own a cruiser and a sports...best of both worlds....thunder thighs certianly would help with the bigger bike. Another thing we have in common is that some women terrify the be-jesus out of me!! lol

Thanks for the welcome....I have only lived up here for 3 years so don't know heaps, but have gone on a couple of organised rides which beats being 'nigel no mates' on the road. And I enjoy riding with a group more. Hopefully will meet some more locals on here.

Gegonz... if you organise a cruiser ride up there in the next month (excluding this weekend), I'll come up and join you - it will be like a farewell to my beautiful beastie, amongst other similar riders. I promise you, get a group together and I'll be there.

Well, you just never know Greg - trying to make my way up to Paeroa on Saturday so could perhaps even manage to come along for half of the ride thats heads us north and depart from there. Will see how I go - thanks for the link. And yes, it would be wonderful to be on a ride with other cruisers. The whole riding style is different and I do feel my best on the bike when Im amonsgt similar bikes.

Might just try and work my magic and be there...
