So who is up for a Hill Climb?

Have just been made aware of the HMCC Quine Road Sealed Hill Climb, just outside Morrinsville for those that don't know.

There are no bucket class, but was thinking if enough buckets turn up it would be a bit of a laugh

April 10 is when it is on, entry form and details can be found here and here

    So who is in

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Could be keen. What's the critical number before you post off your entry Rick?

Hmmmm, just realised the issue with this idea. The bloody thing clashes with the NI series round at Tokoroa

Move on nothing to see here.

Hi, I am part of the team that runs the Quine Rd hill climb (and I am Shaun's dad, Shaun's the new kid on the 'banana' last Sunday at Mt Wellington).
The section we use is 1.1km, the first half is flattish and tight, then it opens out into a bit of an uphill faster bit. You will definitely be wishing for more power . . .
But if we get 4 bikes, that would make a competition.

There is an album of photos on our website
    http://www.hamiltonmcc.org.nz/galler...avId=x34185607
which shows the bottom bit, doesn't really cover the faster end part.

    Cheers
    Steve

Possibly a dumb question - but do you have to wear leathers to race?
Bike will be a old ratty FZR400 and I will be super slow.

Yep that's me out, For some reason I had my months mixed up.
Got these dates from Steve B a while back, guess I should stick them on the wall somewhere.

Taumarunui 5th 6th March, Tokoroa 9th 10th April, Kaitoke 8th 9th (TBC), Auckland 12th 13th Nov (or the same date as the 2hr) and the final at Roys Hill on the 3rd 4th Dec.

    That is a dumb question.

Do you have to wear a rubber to root a hooker?

    Edit:
    OK, best be constructive.
Whether you have to or not its a really good idea to.
Beg, borrow, steal sort of shit. I got mine for a hundie bucks, ugly but they do the job.
Road gear is kind of OK but race stuff is miles better and it's always good to be able to dust yourself off and have another crack.
I've seen flash and expensive Cordura stuff from a reputable brand shred the moment it his the ground at a measly 90kph.
Thats not to say all alternatives to leather are shit, I've inherited an mates old Cordura jacket that hit the ground probably ten times and still goes good but its a bit of a lucky dip.
I've seen crashes at over 200 with no abrasions and just a bit of a burn from the heat buildup with good leather race gear.
A one piece will make most people go faster too as it allows the right kind of movement required for riding a bike real hard.

Yeah, Quine Road will be run under full MNZ Road Race rules, so leather only, back protectors, road race boots, certified helmets etc.

It is a serious business going fast on a narrow road, and there'll be no haybales or anything like that either.

bummer - I was going off the old photos of the track.....there was a bonnie rider that had jeans on. Figured it was worth a shot. Unfortunately I'm a bit tall for most of the second hand leathers out there.......and with new bub on way can fork out for some new ones. Will have to go on the xmas wish list.

Koba - It may surprise you how long I have been riding. How often I have crashed. How fast I have crashed.......book by cover and all that. So no, don't need to propaganda.
To answer the question. Yes. But only a bucket racer would know what a hooker bike feels like. I only ride someones ex-wife
