Road Race Riders Forum

Hey folks, just came across this link on the mnz website.

Riders are invited to register to attend the Road Race Riders Forum to be held in conjunction with the Motorcycling New Zealand AGM.

This will be held at the Coachman Hotel, Palmerston North on Saturday 21st May from 1.30 – 3.00pm. Following that will be the Road Race Workshop to be held from 4.30 – 6.00pm.

To attend this meeting you must register and be a MNZ member - email emma@mnz.co.nz advising your name and MNZ Licence Number.

Having never been to one of these forums, I am wondering if I should attend. What would one be expecting from it, what topics etc, is it a state of affairs type thing or a what are our ideas type deal?
It is a very long way to go from Invers, however if it is really important and effects alot of what we do then I might be keen.

Having not actually been to one, I can only assume. But my own thoughts are that if there are things you believe can be done better, or you have any particular concerns you want addressed, this would be the place to air them.

If you can make it, do it Jeremy. Sport's full of people with a million ideas but not the balls to voice them through the correct avenues. Guilty of this myself.

I think there is a bunch of people looking at going to this...I will if I can make it. A VERY good platform to air some thoughts.

Hi.
This has not been done before at conference so its the first (as far as I am aware).
This is the way for riders to be heard and have a voice at the RR workshop.
I have put details of this on other posting on this site and FB so get organised, register with Emma and attend.

mm i am pretty sure I remember being in the meeting in 2009 in wellington

Your recollection is correct. 2009 was a discussion meeting which is where the stocksport rules came from. I remember Aaron Slight talking to the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Trevor Heaphy.
This also used to happen in the different "workshops" when the clubs voted on remits which was prior to 1999. Non delegates were allowed to participate in discussions but could not vote. Pretty much the same as the proposed forum.

Still I guess youve called me worse,I would have thought there would have been heaps more with ideas than that,Early days yet I suppose.
